I always want to do everything, get everything (in)humanly possible checked off my endless task lists. But I can't: nature doesn't work that way. Tiredness, burnout, unplanned changes happen.
Today, I did something different. Instead of writing my endless morning to-do list of around 10-15 items I will never fully complete, I decided to not overwhelm myself.
I asked a simple question: "what CAN I do today?". I wrote all my realistic tasks down and decided to eliminate until I had only 3-5 left.
3-5 items. There's a lot more to do but it's ridiculous to even pretend that I can do it all today.
I'd much rather underpromise and overdeliver. The alternative is to write more tasks, overwhelm myself every morning and fail myself every evening. Not down for that.
So, what can you do today?
